So what if we’re isolated? I have to say out of all the schools Ive been to that Tech is the only one I miss. For a Tech fan it isnt all about cash unlike most other spots. We just dont give a damn. That’s why if we beat a rival team (normally UT or those damned aggies) we’re the ones getting in trouble for rushing the field throwing batteries tortillas etc. So Tennessee would be a step down not necessarily bc it might or might not pay better, but bc they’re not Tech. Same with any other school

I’m no SEC fan, but Tennessee is one of the best jobs in the country. They’ve got the biggest stadium outside of the Big Ten, and arguably the best home field advantage in college football. They’re kings in their own state and have SEC money.

Texas Tech will always be third fiddle in its own state. It may be in Texas, but it’s only the 7th largest university in Texas and its endowment is less than 10% of the Longhorns or the Aggies. And Lubbock is very, very isolated.
